In your web.config is debugging set to "true"?

Akhhttar:

This is really basic but may be overlooked, so please bear with me.

When you run your site in debugging, assuming that Visual Studio and the site are setup properly for debugging, your breakpoint will not be hit if it is on a page or tab other than the default.  Furthermore, if the page or tab that contains your module needs a password, you need to login and navigate to that page (or tab).  At that point your breakpoint should be hit (and the icon should change).

Also, to avoid confusion, close all your IE windows.  A new instance of IE should be started when you start debugging, it is on that instance of IE that you must navigate and possibly login to go to the module you need to debug.
