Does anyone have any recommendations regarding how to set up a staging site? We want to be able to make a series of changes, make sure it looks the way we want, then push the entire site to our live system. Thanks.

You can do that if you deisre, but you MUST be 100% sure that you fully sync the databases.

If you want I can share some specifics on how I do this for one of my websites.

Well basically what I did for my production site was to set everything up on the staging environment first, then once I was ready to deploy to production I pushed the site up to production and copied up the db.

Then all future modifications I only pushed the modified tables.  I have never re-synched the user tables but I can still push pages etc, however, the downside to this is that you CANNOT update the interface on production directly, and you must REALLY watch the data for individual modules.  SO in my case I now only push data for specific modules that need updating and don't bother with much else...

An actual staging -> Production push process isn't really supported with DNN

Mitchel-

So are you manually pushing individual tables, or are you pushing an entire subset of tables each time? Do you have any SQL scripts that you would be willing to share? Also, what about images, are your synchronizing image directories as well? Thanks for your help.
