I have been fighting with the install for DNN for over a week.  I have followed every guide and searched and searched through DNN UG's, Forums, etc.  I have followed the instructions in the manual but it jumps around between 3.x and 4.x and completely different build environments.  Is there are step by step guide that goes over the entire 4.x installation and build?  I am running IIS on a 2003 box with SQL 2005 Express and VWD 2005 Express.  I've tried building from source, using the install package, using the VWD "StarterKit".  Based on the searches I have done, I have found there are a lot of people running into the same problems as I have.  I have been successful in getting the build to work through the built in web server in VWD but I can not get anything to work in IIS.

Maybe I am missing some documentation somewhere...

Hi,

There is a video walk through by one of the main Scotts from the core team.  It's on ASP.net I believe but I found it from reading the project blogs here a couple of months ago, shortly after 4.0.2 came out.  He walks you all the way through the install using your exact set up.
