Should I delete the "forum" directory first, or is 3.20 designed to install ontop of 3.10 without doing this?

There is no reason to delete this to upgrade.  What you should do is check to make sure under module definitions you only have one instace of forum.

There seems to be a few threads about this problem, so it's not unique to one site. I'm having the same problem and have reinstalled 3.20.01 a number of times. I previously had 3.10.04 installed and in use, so I don't want to lose existing data. I'm on DNN 3.2.2. I've spent almost a day on it now, checking everything and I can't see anything wrong.

Well I've finally fixed my problem. When I compared the files in the \App_LocalResources directory with an installation on my local I found that some of the files were different sizes so I replaced the whole directory and now it works.

Do you have any idea why this happend? Were you doing things manually, was this local? Just trying to make sure there is not some unknown bigger issue to keep an eye out for.
