Just moved some sites to a new server and now I am getting this error when I try to edit the Scheduler:

Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. --->

In the Event Viewer I have:

Scheduler Exception - Inner Exception: Access to the path \\server\folder\portals\_default\cache\"long_name..." is denied

Module Load Exception - Inner Exception: Timeout expired

I cannot access the schedule thru the usual way so I set all scheduled tasks to disabled in the database. I still cannot access the scheduler.

Any ideas?

I seem to have fixed it by deleting the schedule history from the database, it was extensive and I took a guess that it was causing problems.

I'm having the same problem on a live site, althought the Purge Schedule job is setup to clean the log every couple of days, it is growing until this exception is thrown.

The only way to solve this is by manually deleting records from the schedule history table in the DB, which is a pain.

I'm using DNN 4.5.3.

Is there any solution fo this problem???

Thx

Ofer

This is a permissions issue. The solution is to check your permissions on the DNN directory. Make certain that the user NetworkService (or whatever the Application Pool identity is) has the proper permissions on the folder, subfolders and files.

Thanks for the reply.

It's a share hosting, so I've asked the provider to reset the security settings, and we'll watch if that helps.

Thx!
