Hi, I've been using DNN for out company intranet for a while now, but recently we had a bit of a disaster here in Gloucestershire with floods.

Basically, our entire system went down when the UPS' went down and we couldn't get generators online in time. Much chaos ensued. We're kind of back to normal, but two problems I'm having with the Intranet now are:

  1. The most important one: None of the passwords for any of the user profiles, including the admin and host, seem to work. Is it possible that these could have been erased from the database, and if so, how can I replace them?
  2. Not so bothered about this one: All of the links to images in the site seem to have been lost.

I do have a backup (all ahil the backup) but I will still lose some data by reinstating it, so i would appreciate assistance in making the current version accessable again.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Mr. Fysh.

Typically for the password issue it would seem that your machinekey and validationkeys have changed.

I would validate that they are the same as they were before the system crash.

For the links, I have no idea on that one.

Thank you very much for that. The machine and validation keys had indeed been changed. It had also added a line to the web.config file with an installation date. Since changing these back to the original web.config, users can now log in again.

The image link problem I've tracked down to the fact that the site had two friendly URLs, and the sysadmin had put only one of them back in to IIS after getting the network running again. Just changing all the links to the correct friendly URl has done the trick (although it took some time).

Thanks for the assistance.
