Hi all

I've just started to implement dnn 04.05.04 and have created some customized modules in it.

The problem I'm currently facing is this: In the Edit Mode (displayed within the control panel), the webcontrols inside my customized modules are able to display their latest values (eg. i entered 'abc' into a textbox and after postback, the textbox's text will still be 'abc'). However, if I'm in the View Mode, the textbox's text will be clear after postback. This happened also to my dropdownlists where the selected value will be reset to the default value.

I'm guessing that in the View Mode, the viewstate is either disabled or lost. Is there any solution for me to keep the viewstate for the webcontrols in View Mode or am I thinking in the wrong direction?

Any help will be much appreciated. --- kai

Set the default cache duration for this custom module to -1

DotNetNuke modules hold viewstate like normal. However if you are loading your controls dynamically they will not hold viewstate unless you use the techniques described here: DynamicForms
