Nina Meiers - XD.COM.AU has recently had a change in business structure, allowing her to invite serious DotNetNuke developers looking at growing their market share to be involved in XD DESIGN in a more visible and tangible structure.  We are looking for one or two serious full time DNN developers to partner with and share business opportunities with.

Please not this is not a paid position.  It is specifically for existing developers who are wanting to grow their business and we will offer opportunities on projects, actively seek out new and larger projects through our very keen resellers, provide access to our network of subscribers, currently at approximately 69,700 over the range of sites managed by XD, and we have been extremely quiet in our marketing strategies for the last 18 months while putting systems in place to run what we believe is a successful DotNetNuke business.

Our next step is to find those great developers to help us with our client enquiries for development work, some projects large, some small, but nevertheless, all qualified, genuine opportunities. The ideal candidate/s will be full time DNN developers, who may or may not have a product for sale.  They must not be employed elsewhere in a full time position with another company as an 'employee' to ensure that every opportunity that is presented, has full priority for quoting and winning and carrying through to completion in an timely manner and provide ongoing support.

At this stage, XD Design have no plans in the future to engage a full time in house developer, as we believes the calibre of great developers from around the world and access to them via the internet is more than sufficient, but having said that, an Australian company would be a great choice as well so that for the larger projects that come by may benefit by having face to face discussions, but it is not a priority.

We are currently rebranding and changing our profile, and the successful company/companies that are part of this venture will have high level exposure and will be promoted at the highest level as our strategic partners. We will also work with them on their projects and ensure their finished projects look great, assist in helping them market / develop their modules and your success within the DotNetNuke environment will be part of our business model too.

In return for this opportunity, your company will help provide the 'missing parts' of running smooth DNN websites, be available to rectify errors with modules that occur and assist in advising / quoting and supporting projects that are done by XD Design. This may be as small as identifying log errors, or as large as site upgrades (XD sites at no charge - but client sites for a fee of course)

More specifically -
As a partner within the XD network you would be expected to but not limited to be responsible for the following –

  • Provide infrequent but high priority support in ensuring the XD websites run smoothly
  • Assist in tweaking or bug checking modules that XD Design may purchase for use (for XD and/or clients)
  • Provide fair and competitive quotations on projects
  • Assist in the creation of modules for the XD Network
  • Enhance existing ones as required (from time to time)
  • Offer other .NET skills for projects that are non DNN
  • Assist in enhancing ecommerce applications used by XD Design
  • Be available for regular meetings via MSN, Skype or in person to 'keep on track'

Please do not apply if you are a full service company who provides design and skinning services as well.  We are really looking for great developers who do just that ... push DNN to the boundaries and more and want to focus on building up their developer infrastructure and complement XD Design service offerings. We would love to work with companies who have great ideas, but lack the audience and would also benefit from being able to brand their business services with one of the most recognised and respected names in the DNN community.

While we cannot and will not promise the world, but we believe we can offer a world of opportunity and would really love to have a mutually beneficial working relationship with a developer company who can help free up Nina's time and also benefit from what XD Design has to offer.

So if you are an ethical company with a great track record and looking at growing your exposure and profile being associated with one of the most influential DNN contributors, who is completely ethical, but very overworked and would like to say YES to work, instead of NO, then please contact me directly at nina.meiers(at)xd.com.au with ‘Developer Partnership’ in the subject heading.

In the first instance, can you please send through your capabilities statement, an overview of your last three DNN projects and why you feel you would be the perfect partner to with Nina Meiers and the XD Design Team.

Thank you for your time and I am really looking forward to hearing from interested parties. We anticipate making an announcement within the next 21 days.

Hi Mitchel - I thought about part time developers, but felt it's unfair to put them in a position that might affect their day to day work or might stop me from getting a project finished, but one can never say never...but for now it's not quite the right timing.

I've narrowed it down to three great options now - each with unique skills and I'm expecting to have something finalised by mid next week, but it's handy to know that there are some good 'part time' developers who are interested in doing some work.  It's all good timing now, since my new rack and hosting environment is just about ready to celebrate it's official launch...

Thank you for your considerate comments Mitchel
