Hi,

I have just ran through the installation video for DNN version 3.0, i have version 04.05.05.  The gudie was great and everything except one thing i could do. They say you need to configure the web config file and put in the path to the SQL DB , username and password. In the version i have you don't have this file to edit and i can't find a file to edit. Any ideas?

Also when i browse my site i get a page cannot be displayed error 403 which i believe is permissions.  I set the permissions as explained in the video demo with no problems but i woundered if this was because of my above SQL path not being configured?

Any help would be great. i am using windows 2003 on a windows virtual PC.

Thanks for any help.

FIrst of all you can rename release.config to web.config and make the changes there.

Secondly for some extra help have a look at this article it is regarding intall from 4.4.1 days, but it is still appliciable

Thanks for that.  Should i just change the path in the release.config and that will work or should i change it to web.config and make the changes?

You can make the changes in release.config, but you MUST rename it to web.config

Thanks.  I have done that but i still get a 403 error when loading http://localhost/dnn i have put it in c:\\web\dnn could it be that it has to be in the C: drive directly.  I created a new iuser and set all the permissions, it must be somthing really silly.

Thanks
