Hi all

I have some child portals ive finished now and wish use them as parent portals, by redirecting the dns from www.myweb.com > mydnn.com/myweb and adding the appropriate alias, all this no problem.

I wish i had made them as parent portals in the first place now because, i think now i have some errors due to the child portal folder thats created. When i browse to www.myweb.com, it redirects succesfully but it either does not find the child at all, (i think because the child folder is not a asp.net application virtual route) or permision for iis_user is not allowed to browse that folder.

Is there an easier way to change a child portal to a prent portal ?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Andy

log in as superuser ("host") and go to portals in host menu. select the desired portal, scroll down settings page to the far end and add the desired address as portal alias.

hi and thanks for replying, i had already added the alias for the portals i wanted to change into parents. But now i get security dialog (username and password)

does this mean the child portal folder needs permissions ?

child portals are independent portals with own roles and users
