I'm new to DNN and ASP.NET, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I've searched the manuals and these forums but couldn't find the answer.

I've installed DNN on Windows 2003 Server IIS 6. I was able to install it and start configuring it from the server without problem (using localhost/dotnetnuke). But, when I try to access the site using the public URL, it changes to localhost (my.domain.com/dotnetnuke changes to localhost/dotnetnuke). This is fine if I'm working on the server, but it's kinda frustrating when I'm on any other machine! :-) I've cleared the cache in IE just in case that was causing it, but it did no good. Any help resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ken

You need to go into the Host, Portals menu and add the URL you want to access the site throught to the Portal Aliases as the bottom of the page. Edit the portal that has localhost against it, and add a new HTTP alias.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks for the quick reply. That did the trick!

Is there any way to completely remove the localhost/dotnetnuke alias. There is no editting icon next to it like there is for the alias I just added.

Thanks again.

Ken

Ken,

Yes you can remove it, you will need to login to the site using the NEW URL, then you can edit/delete the existing alias.
