I did as you suggested and added the host account to view and write permissions in the admin file manager and set the permissions recursive. Sadly though this made no change at all, as I stiil get the message You don't have permission to see the files on the site The only tjird party module I have on my portal is MyProfiles and MyMessages but I was having this problem before I added those modules. Any other suggestions or perhaps I am doing something wrong?

I met the same problem today . I guess this raise from the file permission settings . Below is how I solved this problem.

1:Log in using host(or site administrator) ,click "admin - file manager".
2:Check on "Recursive" then click "Synchronize Files ".
3:Under" Folder Security Settings" , uncheck "view folder"permission to "All Users",then click update.
4:Now this should be ok now. try to visit site settings to verify it.
5:Check back the "view folder"permission to "All Users" under the "Folder Security Settings" in "Admin - File Manager".

Above steps do nothing else except let the application refresh the file permission settings. So the problem should be solved.
This solution works in my two dnn 455 sites. Wish it can help.

I would love to try setting this permission, but the file permissions settings don't appear below the host file manager. I need to set the access there, because I'm having the same problem with the host banner module, and the folder for the banners shows up under the host file manager, not under the admin file manager.

Has anyone come up with a way to resolve the 'don't have permission to see files on the site' error for the vendor module?
