DNN is just an extensible asp.net application. In fact it's programmed with VS 2005. So what is it exactly that you want to do?

Hi, I dont have much knowledge about DNN CMS, may it already provides all the funcationalities I need. What I need is design my complex programming logic (inclusive DB calls/web service calls, custom validations, using custom controls etc) and add into it as custome modules. But like other CMS application I also expect that DNN provide some sort of customization that a authorized user can do at his own (say editing some text/uploading new images/formatting of existing contents etc). I gone through some of related posts but that were not adequate for my requirments.

Please Help!

Thanks in advance.

DotNetNuke is not only a CMS, it is an extensible Application Framework. You can add functionality by adding 3rd party or your own modules, even for accessing your own data sources. Have a look at the "Getting started" page in Resources menu for an introduction, for extensive description I recommend the "Professional DotNetNuke4" Book by Shaun Walker et. al.

And of course read the Module Developer's guide in the documentation section.
