After my fisrt successful DNN 3.x install, which came after 4 failed installs, I tried to go to http://localhost/dnn expecting to see a default DNN portal. Instead I landed on http://localhost/dnn/install/ which looked like a file directory. So I tried http://localhost/dnn/default.aspx again hoping to see a default DNN portal, and it did it again. It went strait to http://localhost/dnn/install/. The odd thing about this to me is that it's not looking for any specific file. It's just going to the install folder and won't let me directly go to the default.aspx file. I've looked quite a few times on the DNN site for an answer and am not getting anywhere.

I'm using asp.net 1.1.4322

I'm using SQL Server Express for my database

If you need any additional information from me to understand my problem please ask and I will give what I can.

for DNN 4 you need ASP.net 2.0

We are using DNN 3.3.7

But since you brought it up. Will an instance of DNN 3.x work properly with ASP.Net 2.0? (Not trying to start a tangent but this is something I have been wondering)

DNN 3.3.x will work with ASP.Net 2.0, but I suggest to move to current DNN 4.5.5, that has improved performance and nive new features.

That is our ultamite goal.

We are installing an instance of DNN 3.3.7 at a new location(off the current network). We will then try to move our existing portal/content to the new location. Then do an upgrade at the new locatoin to DNN 4.x.
