Hello all,
   I am running version 4.4.1
I have the Page Persistance set to "Page".

For some reason, and I can't recreate it consistantly, I am getting a "ViewState Error" after submitting some forms with some of our portals:

A critical error has occurred.

Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request.

Has anyone ran into this?  It is kinda getting annoying to some of the customers, cause they write a long blog post and then hit the "post" and the error occurs (sometimes).  Then the post is lost.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Gary

I have seen this with dynamically injected server controls where the number of elements in viewstate changes.

Hi Mitchel,
  Thanks for the reply!

I know it has something to do with controls getting added dynamically, but that is basically the basis of DNN...Adding controls on the fly (Modules, Skin Controls...etc).  But I can't seem to recreating it...Doesn't happen all of the time on one particualar page.

thank again,

Gary
