Does anyone know why are files saved in the database besides being in the application folder?

Does this help to make the site faster?

Im making a small site, but the database is already 26 MB

Is there anyway to prevent this?

Thanks

That module is saving files in the DB?  THis is not something done by default by any modules to my knowledge.

I was seeing the tabla named "Files" in the database, it contains many files, i think they are saved when the are uploaded using the File Manager

Do you know if it is safe to erased those files from the database?

Thanks

That table simply holds the references to the files, the actual files are stored in the file system, that is simply a mapping that is used by dnn to locate the files.

Removing the entries from this table can/will break any dynamic file links that use the LinkClick.aspx handler for processing (Documents module, etc...)

it is more likely, that the size of your database is caused by a large number of entries in the eventlog, scheduler history and sitelog. check both and delete entries, you don't need any longer.
