How I could allow the user to type in their email address as their password? First of all I need to increase the password length and all non-numeric characters.

Could this be done?

by default that would be possible anyway, the only restriction on passwords is that they must be 7 characters long. Most email addresses will be longer.

You can change the password requirement settings in web.config. Look for the provider settings of  "AspNetSqlMembershipProvider"

Please note: using an e-mail address as password is quite unsafe, because it can be easily guessed
