Thanks for getting to the bottom of it Erik.

Personally I think it is a bad hack to include that as a work-around for a problem with a development web server when it affects thousands and thousands of production sites, but thankfully it's open source so I can change it.

For anyone who is interested in doing it without changing code, the free PageBlaster can also remove unwanted output in your page.

>> when it affects thousands and thousands of production sites,

John, I'm not sure it affects that many sites. It will only affect those sites that use modules or skinobjects that don't handle this type of url in a correct way. Unfortunately, my MLLanguageSelector was one of those modules. Not only this change, but also other weird urls were not handled correctly by my languageselector, only this change brought that bug to light. I did release a fix for this last week. I did not see anyone reporting any other error than only the error with my module, but maybe you heard of more.....?

Lol.. and to add another shameless product plug.. anyone wanting to put Logos, and anything else in their skin and have a very easy way of editing the contents of that with an admin module, please check out my MLSkinHelper module...

It's not necessarily an error, but several of us have noticed this odd addition and what it does is make a new Url for the home page in the eyes of the search engines.

So with that one little change multiple search engines are adding another record to their indexes all over the world, which leads to database over-use and global warming. Plus it looks ugly. :)
