I have purchased and installed the Advanced Announcements module which replaces the default Announcements module in DNN.

While many of the features of Advanced Announcements are useful, the module's a bit more complex for the majority of my users.

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the SRC package for a core DNN module to modify the path that the module is installed in and the filenames?

It looks like I need to be able to modify the .DLL files....

I don't understand, what you plan to do, but it sounds *very* dangerous. To substitute a module by another one you will need to migrate the data and replace the module in the modules table. But do at least 2 backups of your database, before you manually try to modify it!

The situation is that the Advanced Announcements module REPLACES the default DNN module (uses the same table....same folder...etc).  I'll be one of the first to admit, that it's probably not the smartest approach to module development (I'm not the developer of it).

I'm trying to modify and package a variation of the default Announcements module...but I'm not having much luck so far.
