Hope someone can help with my install problems. I am using XP Professional, SQLServer 2005 Express, Visual Studio Professional, and I have downloaded the Install version of DNN 4.5.5

Following (many) of the tutorials out there, I have set up my database and users, configured my physiscal directory (DotNetNuke_2\Website) with appropriate permissions, set up the Virtual Direcory...again with appropriate permissions. When I finally come to the install, the web browser finds the InstallWizard.aspx on the localhost and then justs hangs with a blank screen.

Eventually this times out, but on looking at the DotNetNuke database in SQL Server, a table (dbo.version) has been added - albeit empty, and 3 stored procedures have also been added (FindDataBaseVersion/GetDatabaseVersion/UpdateDatabaseVersion).....so I know that my connection string in the web.config must be ok.

Any ideas out there?????

clear the database and start accessing the site again. make sure, you have write permission for root folder of your installation and all sub folders.

Thanks for your reply Sebastian.....having followed your advice, the situation is unchanged.

No actual error being shown, just a blank screen until timeout....and the database updated with the items mentioned.

another issue can be missing permissions for the database user or wrong database collation (make sure, server and database use a case insensitive collation). Sorry, difficult to analyse without access to the system.
