Hi I just have a simple question about forum attachments.

Right now it uses a dotnetnuke standard control and with that it displays all the files in the upload folder (e.g. the portal root). Is this correct ? Is this a good practice ? Is there an easy way to just hide this ?

also in the forum user documentation it talks about setting the upload folder, file size and types etc, but I couldn't find these options in the current download version. are they not included yet or am I missing something.

I need to get the forum working quite urgently, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You need to use DNN File Manager to control folder permissions. You also can turn attachments on/off in the Forum Administration -> General Settings section (I think thats where). As for proper, this is the preferred method for handling files via modules.

Can anyone answer this part of the question, as this is my problem also - I can't configure some of the options as that don't appear - what I want is for forum users to be able to upload from their own file locations, but there's no option to enable this.

Thanks,

Jason.

The documentation was a written for an earlier version. Most everything in it still applies but the section on the upload folder does not.
