Antonio,

Thanks for the response. Makes sense that the blog module was not architected as a large scale blogging plarform. News Article probably is not either though so not quite sure which hourse to bet on.

A lot of people (including us) are looking to use DotNetNuke as a platform to support their custom business requirements while including various social networking components (blogs, forums, groups, profiles, wiki). Maybe the bigger question is whether DotNetNuke is architected to scale with a large amount of user generated content and interaction (if we assume that hardware is not a problem).

Don't get me wrong, I think DNN is a great product that nicely combines open source (free) with commerce (paid modules, custom development, consulting etc.). Just trying to get my ducks in a row before throwing my tiny development team into a one way street.

Regards. Ivan

I definetely understand what you are trying to do, and believe me, you are not alone.

Everyday I see more folks wanting to use DNN as a "platform" for Social Networks. My standard response is "go for it". DNN has been tested and re-tested and re-developed in order to scale and perform. Out-of-the-box, it should be pretty good, however, you must be careful with the commercial modules you buy. Some are pretty awesome, but some other will definetely make cry "mommy!".

HTH.
