greetings!

how can i call or load a windows program like word or excel from my dotnetnuke site.  the windows programs are local on each users pc.  the portal is our intranet.

I did a little digging around, and found this thread on experts-exchange, which has some usefull info: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/Q_20694402.html

Mind you: launching local applications on the client is deemed a great risk, as a result of which browsers will display a lot of warnings before even allowing it. You should only be doing this at all on an intranet site.
