i recently encountered a peculiar error. whenever i try to access my company's website at all, it just gives me a username and password prompt, and nothing i do would allow me to access the site (none of the user/passes i have, etc). supposedly, since godaddy is my hosting service, i cant access the ftp (according to the person who designed the website for my company. i've since taken over, and he isnt being very helpful). i don't know what to search for on the forums, and i would appreciate any help i can get. thanks!

ps. the website is www.mortgagecentrenet.info, if you're interested

pps. i don't have any experience with dnn, as this is my first time using it.

The username/password prompt you're getting is not a DNN prompt, it's something setup with IIS. You'll probably need to contact godaddy if you can and see what they recommend for modifying your IIS settings. Do you have login info for godaddy's hosting services? You might be able to modify the IIS settings from there.

i'm gonna try that. however, this error has only started happening within the past couple of days, and the website was working perfectly fine for a year before that, and i don't believe anybody has access to, much less did, change the IIS settings. however, i will contact godaddy and try it. thanks!

christoc, thanks for the advice, the error is gone now. apparently there was something wrong with the hosting? i'm not clear, i got in touch with the guy who designed the website, and he called godaddy again and then told me they made a hosting error of some sort. again, thanks for responding!
