I am a beginner with DNN and have created a new module.

It works fine on my local machine, and now i would like to install it on my life side.

I am using powerDNN.com.

How do I package it? I understand I need to zip up the files, but I am not sure which of the files i need to include.

I also need the info on how i make the .dnn file.

Any help would be great.

That depends on the method you used to create the module. Your best bet through would be to go to the Module Definitions page, and click on the edit icon next to your module. On that edit page there should be an option to package the module. If all goes well that should work for your basic needs.

I have tried that and unfortunately it did not work. The error I received was a missing .dnn file.
I have created the module the following way:
Created a folder in “desktop modules”.
Created a web user control.
Changed it to inherit from DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase
I then created my web control.
After that I went to ‘module definition’ on my portal and created a new module attaching the control to it.
Now, I have really no idea how to install it on my life portal.
