I have a client who would like to have a "bookmark" icon for their DNN 4 portal.  (This is the little icon that appears next to the text on your list of favorites or bookmarked pages on your browser).

Everything I have read says you can just use the favicon.ico file and put a link to it in the header of the page you would like the bookmark icon to reside.  So I went into the root folder of the site and replaced the original favicon.ico with a new favicon.ico.  I also put a link into the header of the default.aspx page like below.

         <LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.mywebsite.com/portal/favicon.ico">

Still, no bookmark image is appearing.  Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,
Kristine Taylor
