Hi,

you can do it via programing just user these class libraries of dnn to create new user(s)

just make a userinfo class object and set the required value to it like given below:

Dim ObjUserInfo As New DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserInfo()

       ObjUserInfo.Username = TxtUserName.Text

       ObjUserInfo.FirstName = TxtFirstName.Text
       ObjUserInfo.LastName = TxtLastName.Text
       ObjUserInfo.IsSuperUser = False
       ObjUserInfo.Email = TxtEmailAddress.Text
       ObjUserInfo.PortalID = 0
       ObjUserInfo.DisplayName = TxtDisplayName.Text
       ObjUserInfo.Membership.Password = TxtPassword.Text
       ObjUserInfo.Membership.UpdatePassword = False

'' Then pass it to the below Dnn Method

        Dim createStatus As DotNetNuke.Security.Membership.UserCreateStatus = DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.CreateUser(ObjUserInfo)

''createStatus will show the output whether user has been created or not. which you can display in Label

I hope this would help you :-)

Hi Jno,

 I am not sure you've solved your issue or not. But dnnvillage released a import export module which is help you to import users in xml format so all you need is convert Spreadsheet data to valid xml file then use the module to import them to the portal. There is some instructions as well as two sample xml files. If you got issue just let me know I will try to help you.This is the address of the module( it is free). Hope it works for you.

do I need any other dnn dll's?  And, what should I put in my web.config (just trying to run it locally).  I've added dotnetnuke.httpmodules.dnnmembership.dll and xml but I get an error...

Exception Details: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Void DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.DataCache.ClearUserCache(Int32, System.String)'.

Any help would be so very much appreciated - but I think what you have listed in the previous post is on track with what I want to accomplish.

thanks...
