Ok here is one of the MANY entries in the eventlog on the server, it repeats over and over again......Im currently researching this on the web but not having to much luck so far.

The actual setup is like this......the deafult web site is running as asp.net 1.1, the dnn portal is running as a VD in its own app pool and running under asp.net 2.0.
