Hi!  Is there a really simplistic module or something in DNN that I can add for a simple file upload for a user that is formatted with a simple text box and upload button?  I know there is a file manager for DNN but I don't want the users to touch that - just to have a simple file upload in the middle of the page I am working on.

I dont know of one. You could perhaps give that user access to their own page on DNN and then add a Link module to that page. The user can then upload files using the Link control. You may like to give them access to their own folder in the File Manager. Also, if that user is able to upload files unlike other users then they can upload files from any module they have edit permissions for (like announcements, links) by selecting the folder they have access too. You can set upload access to a single file manager folder at Security Permissions on the File Manager.

Hope this offers some immediate help.

Hi Brett - Did you get anywhere with this? I, too, need an Upload and am getting nowhere in DNN. Can get the Ajax to work in VS2005 non-DNN projects but not in DNN. Have tried everything with/without UpdatePanel/Triggers but the Net2 FileUpload Control always says FileUpload1.HasFile is False when the Submit is Clicked.

I assume, repository module might fit your needs, where users can upload files for moderation.
