Ok, I was trying to get a fresh site created using the VS2005 and the StarterKit. After successfully creating the web site it does not compile! I get a ton of compile errors of invalid reference, etc...

Error 10 Name 'IsAdminControl' is not declared. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\AWECGrads\admin\ControlPanel\IconBar.ascx.vb 201
Error 5 Type 'UserInfo' is not defined. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\AWECGrads\admin\ControlPanel\Classic.ascx.vb 154
Error 2 Name 'NavigateURL' is not declared. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\AWECGrads\admin\ControlPanel\Classic.ascx.vb 88

When I investigate some of these (not necessarily the ones above) I can attribute most of them to missing Imports statements on the code file. I cannot even find the IsAdminControl property but can find another one that seems like it would be for this purpose (but not sure): MyBase.AdminMode.

Am I doing something wrong when I configure this? I have not gotten to the point of running the site because it can't compile. The database is setup and ready to go.

I'm getting the same problems when trying to compile the source code. It seemed as thought the projects were out of sync somehow. There were lots of missing Imports statements. If I compiled in Debug mode, I only got a couple warnings, but the WebSite is not configured to compile in Debug mode. When I switched to Release mode these problems surface because the Web site project is being compiled.

What I finally found was that I ws supposed to rename the release.config file to Debug.config. After I did this, the errors cleaned up.
