Hi, I'd like to know:

How do I list users in portal id=2 with specified fields: Display Name, Email, City, IM?

Thanks

have a look at free UserDirectory module from www.effority.net or in your own module use BCL calls instead of directly accessing the database.

Thanks Sebastian,

I know the User Directory of Effority is a great module. However, the site I'm working on is still DNN 3.3.7, so the module can't be used.

Still, I need the necessary query. Can anyone please aid me? Thanks a million.

BTW, why is accessing the db directly not good?

SELECT     dbo.Users.UserID, dbo.Users.Email, dbo.Users.DisplayName,
                          (SELECT     propertyvalue
                            FROM          userprofile
WHERE      propertydefinitionid = 27 AND userid = dbo.users.userid) AS City,
                          (SELECT     propertyvalue
                            FROM          userprofile
                            WHERE      propertydefinitionid = 35 AND userid = dbo.users.userid) AS IM, dbo.UserPortals.PortalId
FROM         dbo.Users INNER JOIN
                      dbo.UserPortals ON dbo.Users.UserID = dbo.UserPortals.UserId
WHERE     (dbo.UserPortals.PortalId = 2)

ok, Kyle was quicker.

Anyway, accessing tables directly shall be avoided, as table structures are subject to change, while the business layer will provide legacy structures and access methods.
