Hi,

I am a new user here and I bought Professional DotNetNuke 4 to help me out with learning how to use DNN, but I followed all the instructions in the book and when I got the step 8 to perform the installation, I was hit with

Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

I am doing the install using the 4.5.5 source download.

I am using SQL Server express 2005 and ASP.net 2.0.  The virtual directory is created and has read and write abilities.  The only thing that I can think of is when I modified web.config there were two sets of tags in the code in <connectionstrings> and <appsettings> for seemingly the same process.  One is commented for SQL server express 2005 and the other for SQL server 2000/2005 and the code in the book seems to match up to that for SQL server 2000/2005.  Should I be entering something different since I am using SQL server express 2005?

Can you think of anything else that might be causing me problems here?

Thank you!

Not owning the book, I can't speak to what steps 1-8 have you do.  But it sounds like a permissions problem on the DNN files.

Are you sure your site is setup to use ASP.NET 2x?
Have you given Network Service read/write on all children of the main DNN Install folder?

Stuart
