I am using the Repository module to display a list of issues of a magazine. This module is displayed on its own page called 'Issues'. This works fine. What I would like to do is also display the module on the home page but only show the latest entry and have it use a different skin. I want to duplicate or 'Reference' the module so I only have to enter the content once - on the 'Issues' page. I have tried to 'Add Existing Module' to my home page and apply the new settings I want, but this also changes the settings on the original module on my 'Issues' page - which is logical but not what I want.

So my question is:
How can I duplicate/reference a Repository module onto a different page and assign it different settings.

Have you looked at using the companion Dashboard module? You can place a Dashboard on your home page, in the Dashboard settings, you can associate it with your Repository module on th eother page, and set it to display the latest items. You can also tell it how many items to display. The format of the dashboard is controlled by the dashboard templates that are part of the Repository template used by the Repository module you associate your dashboard with, so you can edit that template to make it look however you want.

Sounds like a perfect solution. I'll give it a whirl and post back how it works out.

Many thanks.

Sadly this has not worked out so great.

I cannot get the Description to display in the Repository Dashboard. I'm guessing there is a file somewhere that controls what can be displayed in the Dashboard. I have looked around various locations and found some files such as DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\Repository\App_LocalResources\RepositoryDashboard.ascx.resx  but so far I have not had any luck.

If anyone has any tips on how to get the Repository Dashboard to display more information from the Repository I would be very, very grateful.

Check the files in DNNRoot\DesktopModules\Repository\Templates\NameOfTemplate.

The Users guide documentation (available from the Project Downloads page) explains how to edit template files. You will need to edit the dashboard.*.html and dashboard.*.xml files.
