We have been thinking about a similar concept but probably not exactly as you are thinking.  Since the forums offer RSS, I am not sure what you planned was exactly what I envisioned.  We were thinking of a consumption forum which did not allow notifications but pulled all new content one way or another from all forums.  This hasn't been completely thought out or roadmapped yet though.

I've just thought about posting a feature request, but luckily I found this existing topic.

A consumption of all forums would be really great. You must know: I like the new way having a lot of specialized forums pointing to the right persons in charge. They are even the first point of reference, even before documentation or issue tracker

But in the good old days of forums.asp.net all knowledge and trouble focused to one forum. It was easy to find which topics are hot and how the community feels and lives.
