Anybody wanting to write custom modules in a scripting language should check out www.Nukelet.com. Live demo and forums are set up.

Think DNN modules written in PHP.

Very interesting. I never got into the .PHP side of scripting but having that ability will only enhance DNN to the masses.

Well that's interesting.. does it mean we'll have Oscommerce sites running in DNN?

I have some good conversation ammunition for my son now.. He's into Slackware and Squirrel mail and we're always having interesting conversations about Open Source, Linux and Microsoft.

Thanks for this interesting little gem!

DNN needs scripting before domain-specific languages can be introduced effectively. DSL is really what the framework needs, imho :)

In theory, yes osCommerce could run inside DNN. It would need extensive modification though because the osc app is built with multiple entry points, whereas a script would need to have one entry point (i.e., postbacks and hyperlinks would need to loop back to the requesting page) to function well within a container.
