I have a similar issue on a production website.  Presently, I cannot log in as either the super user or the portal admin.

I upgraded the site on Friday to version 4.5.5, and somehow, I cannot now get in to the site anymore using either of these accounts.  I have access to the database, but no idea how to reset the passwords -- they are encrypted.   I have no idea if this has affected other users also, but I assume that they must have the same problem as I am having.

Any suggestions?

Josh,

make sure, you use the machine key from previously used web.config, otherwise no one will be able to login - but they can get their passwords, while admin and host passwords are never send out by email. Follow these instructions to reget your host password, if you cannot get old login passwords to work: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/183/Default.aspx

Thanks.  That was exactly the problem.  I copied over the machine key from my test machine by mistake.
