okay laugh if you want...I deserve it.

As a non techie guy I am the administrator of the site.  The site is private and thus requires the users to register (which sends me an email)  I then go identify the user and  grant access. The problem was the fact that the only thing that the user gave me was a name and email address.  So I spent forever trying to "verify" the user.  The other day why going through the settings I saw that I could turn on several different protocols...like address, state etc... So I flipped the switch and turned them on.I also flipped the switch and made several of them required.   Anyway I just logged in (as adminstrator) and it then takes me to a screen that shows me all the new information that I must enter (address, state etc.) I then hit enter..and it takes be back to the login page at which time I type my username and password and it takes me back to the "new information" page...it appears to be a self perpetuating loop.

my one thought is that perhaps I made something required but didnt turn on the switch to make it appear on the screen.  Any thoughts? Thanks for your assistance.

Yes you are correct, you must have a required field that is not visible.

If you have a look through my blog, I have the instructions on how to re-set the fields and to get you back in!
