Hi,

I don't know whether this forum is the right one for asking this question, but it concerns to installation, so I guess it's not too bad to ask here.

I have a running DNN 3.2 portal on internet and I want to move it to another PC. I did a backup of the database (by sql server standard means) and I have restored it in the new PC without problems. Then I copied the full DNN32 directory to the new machine.

After that I gave permissions to user ASPNET in the new PC folder and created the IIS alias (as stated on installation document) and also created the user I use in web.config in sql server.

Now, when I try to access the page locally in the new PC (http://localhost/myportalname) an error occurs: "Cannot find server or DNS Error".

I saw that in PortalAlias table there was a reference to (www.myportalname.com) so I tried changing it to http://localhost/myportalname but the error still appears...

So, what else do I have to do? Is there a standard way to create an exact mirror of my working site?

Thanks in advance!
