What's up all,
Is there any way to configure the "friendly url" option in DNN to make a child portal look like this:

http://child1.mysite.com

instead of:

http://www.mysite.com/child1

If there is no way to do this with the core DNN friendly URL option, is there a third party module that will do it? I looked at the DNNMasters SEO module, which looks nice, but not sure if it will do the subdomain option.

Thanks!

That is a possibility, however you won't be able to use Friendly URLs to do it.  You will need to set up that subdomain in your DNS to point to the DotNetNuke website, as well as adding a Host Header in IIS for that URL, and then create a Portal Alias for the portal using that URL.

Hope it helps,

THanks!

So, maybe a wild card in the DNS (ex. *.mysite.com)

then in the hostheaders in the "mysite.com" IIS website, add "child1.mysite.com"

Then in the portal aliases add (along with www.mysite.com/child1) child1.mysite.com

Is that what you are saying?

THanks again for the input!

Yes, that should work fine.
