Is there a way to display the link information versus displaying the ... link?

Are you saying you want to display the URL, but not link to it? Or, are you talking about having the description text, but no link? Or, am I just totally lost? Could you please clarify what you're looking for?

The core Links module has an option to display the information link which will put in a hyperlinked ... next to the name of the link.

I don't want the hyperlink.  I want to display the information.  Why should I have the user click on the link to display the info?

Ah, I gotcha. You simply want to display the description by default. As you can see, you can't do that right now. Obviously, that'd be a nice to have, tho. Once a project lead has been assigned, you can probably expect to see something like this tied into a future release. I know this isn't want you really wanted to hear, but that's all I can say for now. If you want to check out a 3rd party mod to the Links module, you can check out this one, which allows you to create a template for your links. Hopefully, this can provide you with a short-term solution.
