Hi, sorry this is probalby a basic question, but I'm wanting to remove the solutions explorer tab from my installations, how would I go about this?

delete the page and empty recycle bin

Actually, it is not so simple.  The Solutions Explorer is an admin page and you would need to remove the page from the database directly.  Also, since it is part of the portal template you would need to remove the page from the portal template to prevent it from being added to any new portals that might be created.

Personally, I think you would be better served by just editing the solutionsexplorer.opml.config file to remove whatever feeds you don't want to show up.

Great idea, thanks Jbrinkman.

You know, I think it would be great if there was the ability for the Host to select or edit the pages displayed under the Admin button, as it's always been a pain trying to edit these pages for our clients.  I.e. If we build a custom Newsletter tool and wanted to remove/replace the core Admin Newsletter tool with our own etc, as while it's easy to build a new page in the site and drop a Newsletter tool into it, it would be far better to have the ability to add such a tool to the admin tab list...
