For the development enviroment with debug enabled, it is necessarily using trust connection and windows authentication for sql 2000, to get it done, I need to add the NETWORK SERVICE user for dnn database with dbo role. However, when I am working in SQL Server Login Properties-New Login dialog box to do this, I can't find the NETWORK SERVICE account in popup list. Does anyone know how to do this?

I don't believe you can.  You need to create a domain user and set your application pool in IIS to use that account, then use that as your SQL account.
