An 4.5 install error I received said  "The process account used to run ASP.NET must have read access to the IIS metabase..."

I then went to this link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904 and read instructions on how to correct this error.

The instructions refer to "aspnet_iis.exe" and give 1 example how to change user read access to the metabase.

The problem is "aspnet_regiis.exe" does not accept parameters and therefore I can not use this program to change metabase settings.

Another program,"metaacl" , a script, is supposed to do the same thing but I can find no samples or instructions how to use this script.

Can anybody please shed some light on this ASP.NET read access problem.

Thank you.

I found my dumb mistake...

I was clicking on the short-cut I had made to aspnet_regiis.exe when I needed to be clicking on the executable in its home directory... note this executable requires other files in the same path to run.

Sorry for the wild-goose chase.
