Well, our sales guys don't even know yet. As the CEO, I get to make decisions like this, and move rapidly if we have to, and yes, we listen to users. We do NOT promise to add all features that everyone suggests, but we are adding order editing to ML.

Our IS eBusiness edition product already supports order editing on steriods (plus CRM + ERP + Accounting + POS, etc) but is not integrated (yet) with DNN. That is a whole new project for us to do...and we are thinking about it.

We are beginning a long, and hopefully mutually cooperative relationship with DNN users, so yes, we do listen, and hope to learn from you all  :) Hopefully, DNN users will also learn that we've already got a very solid product, so it's a 2 way street. That's just how we do business. And I coded the "edit order" feature myself, so if there are bugs, you know who to contact :)

Anyway, we can't hijaak this thread anymore. Contact us directly with any questions, or view our forums at http://forums.aspdotnetstorefront.com where these issues are discussed also.

:)

You rule Nina.  Thanks for contributing your experiences.  This may sound a little weird in a technical forum, but after working with software for a long time you gain a feel for it.  While DNN is far from perfect, it feels right.  Intuitions says that this product will take my customers further while maintaining security and stability.

Oh, and I totally agree with you on XHTML.  It's a nice to have at this point.  In the future it will become more important.  Few customers are poised to take advantage of it right now.  Hopefully at just the right time XHTML compliance in DNN will mature.

Just to close out this post... I have decided to go forward with the integration of our university and DNN.  There are too many benefits.  Performance issues are manageable.  There are obviously a lot of large sites out there using DNN with more traffic than we have.

I am still debating on whether to wrap-up Ektron as a DNN module ... We'll see.

Thanks to everyone who made comments.

We are currently using DNN 4.X to run a fully fledged internet bank, well, at least the web related stuff. It's not a "high volume" site with regards to traffic and such (compared to a normal public site) but on the other hand, we probably have higher requirements regarding security, user logging etc than most site. We have however made 2 big changes to DNN (that I can think of). First, we have decided not to use the DNN DAL but instead implemented our own using Datasets (in the DAL only, the BLL only use datatables to make it more best practice"). Second, we have replaced the normal DNN user authentication with one based on client certificates (a solution used by quite a few of the big players out there for high security sites). But besides this, it's DNN all the way. Again, this is for the Web GUI stuff, which is of course only one part in a much bigger application, and one of the reasons we don't use the DNN DAL. Regarding performance, I do know that our DBAs/Databaseprogrammers complain that DNN talk to much with the DB via the DAL, and having watched a few DB traces, I can't help but to think they have a point. On the other hand, DB programmers ALWAYS complain about these things, so I am not sure how bad it really is :)

After seeing the functionality firsthand in the version being released in November, and seeing quite a few very, very professionally done sites using the Ektron CMS400.NET product, I have to say that I am completely impressed with the product and it's feature set.

It's quite the CMS system, a "true" CMS system that has versioning and workflow built into it. The other features in it are too numerous to list here.

Take my word for it, it is that incredible.
