I just got a notice from a forum on DotNetNuke, I am tracking. Instead of linking to the forums page, it linked to a project page, displaying the general forum "framed in" there. The link was: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DotNetNukeProjects/ModuleStore/tabid/890/forumid/111/threadid/16052/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Known Issue?

This is not a bug and this is not a 'framed' view.  This is the ability of the module to display specific forum groups as 'children' on seperate pages.  These are all part of the same master forum, seen on tabid=795.  This allows one forum setup and configuration, yet group seperation for a use like we do here.  This emails the link based on where the post came from.

Chris, thank you for your reply, but I fear, you did not fully understand my point:

  • please follow the link and have a look at the generated page:
  • there is a post in a general forum (NOT store related in any way)
  • the link in the mail points to the correct thread, but displays a project page around it
  • the ony reason for this I can imagine is, that the last tracking change I did was enabling Thread notification in a store forum's post I started.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

The only reason I can see this happening is someone hardcoded a URL. (ie switched the forumid).  THis could be a bug, but I haven't heard anything about it prior to now.
