I'm new to developing ASP.Net but the people on this forum have been great so far. I'm using Visual Web Developer Express 2005.

I want to change the default registration page. I know that you need to make a new page, set it as the "Registration Page" in Admin options, etc. But what I'd like to do is change the required fields. EG I don't want users to have to enter a 'user name' and 'display name'. I just want them to enter their first/last name and email, first name is your display name and the email is your user name.

any tips on how to get this done? I've set up Visual Web Developer with the Install package, I imagine I need to install the source and change an .aspx page somewhere?

Thanks!

Have a look at the user profile options under the "User Accounts" section of your admin menu.

Thanks for the quick response. In 'profile properties' under the 'user accounts' you can change some of the categories, but not 'display name' or 'user name'. Those seem to be hard coded. Where are these properties defined? i'd like to set display name to the user's first/last name automatically and the user name to their email address.

Thanks!

'display name' and 'username' are 'user' properties. you can specify construction of display name in User Settings (DNN 4.5.x+)
