Hi to all,

I could use some help on the following issue.

I have backup-ed up my domain server live site (virtual folder and SQL database) and restored it to a clone site on my Localhost server.

I have changed the web.config file in order to point to the restored database on my local SQL server instance (and the appropriate db owner as well).

When all the modifications are Ok, the site is displayed, but i am redirected to the URL of my live domain server site !!!

The strange is that, the local site is using the local database and configuration files in order to be displayed, but as soon as everything is OK with them, it is redirected to the domain site.

Can someone explain why does this happen? Is the domain site URL somewhere inside the DNN files?

Hi again,

i found the solution. Here it is, if someone else is interested:

  1. Inside the database myDNNDatabase -> table <dbOwner><dnnPrefix>PortalAlias -> field HTTPAlias -> set the value to 'localhost/myDNNSite'.
  2. If the page is still not displayed, restart the IIS.

I think that this procedure is similar for transfering your site to any domain or local host.
