Upgrade process appeared to work fine. Existing pages/tabs work fine.

However, I noticed some odd behavior when we added a new page -- not showing under the menu (had to Ctrl + F5 several times) and other odd things, and moving modules up/down did not immediately refresh. I don't think it is a skin issue (we have several skins on various portals and the behavior was the same).

Also, when I change Host > Settings sometimes the new values are not displayed after the page refreshes. Clicking Host > Settings > Restart Application appears to reset everything to the true settings/page structure; so that suggests some sort of caching issue. I turned off all performance options to see if that makes a difference (have not tested it w/ everything off).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

check the compression and caching settings of your intallation (see host settings). Don't turn on DotNetNuke compression, if server compression is used.

I set Performance Setting = No Caching (all other host settings are off and set to Disk mode) --- adding new pages/changing host settings/moving modules now appears to work OK (slow!).

This is on a dedicated Windows 2003 server. The web folder is not under the default inetpub folder, the site is using "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE". I'm not sure if IIS compression is on (have to check that tonight)...

Any more ideas?

Thanks!

try to enable performance settings one by one to identify, which causes your troubles.

Looks like the site is stable with Medium Caching, Module Cache = Memory.  The site is very unstable if I enable Page Viewstate to Memory and/or Compression.

During the "odd behavior" episodes, I noticed continuous "Application Start" events in the Event Viewer (several every minute or two). Also, I noticed the Scheduled Tasks kept executing over and over... I have disabled the Scheduled Tasks.

Any ideas re the tasks/Application Start events?  I have truncated the 3 log tables...

Thanks again.
