Hi all,
My company has some online tools, and my team is developing the help system for it. This help system is being developed in DNN and needs to be password protected, as there is some info there that is fairly sensitive. Is it possible to hard code a single username/password into an html link (within our online tools), so that when the user (who's already logged into our online tools) clicks this link, they don't have to enter any user/pass info, and are automatically logged in?

I don't need each individual's user/pass info passed through. Just a general one so that the user isn't forced to log into the help system.

hardcoded login credentials can only be passed as URL parameters, if you don't have a HTML form, that can send them using post. you will however need to create a login service, that takes both parameters and performs the login.

Please realize that even if you were to encrypt this querstring so that no one knew the actual username and password being used that you are still giving everyone a virtual passkey.

All someone has to do is use that same querystring to get in, and it can be hi-jacked off the network, passed amongst friends, etc.
