Yeah, I agree, in its' current format, you need a bit of extra knowledge to add that polish.  The key I think is in what you are syndicating.  If you point to areas on your site that are syndicated, you could include style directives that would give you some control over the look of it.  If you link to feeds from others, you get the style that is either from the browser, or newssource.

Now, there's always room for improvement, and I think, a lot of folks are eager to see this become part of the NewsFeeds (RSS) module, though I can see it as a seperate piece as well.  That's why Peter is  seeking resources to help.  In the meantime, we'll do what we can to help.

Now, I'm done for the day with DNN, gotta watch my KC Chiefs vs Bears game.  Not a very good start for the home team or Chicago, and I really am a fan of both teams.  It's not been a very good year for KC Sports, with the exception of the Wizards, who at least are still in the running for a playoff spot.   So, enjoy your day, and we'll talk again.

Cheers

Phil, this is an interesting little feature and something I was not aware of. I'm goign to dig in and see if I can figure this thing out. I see quite a few uses for this and may come in handy on a project I'm currently working on.

Yes, it is a cool feature.  Just to clarify something, I've been referring to the module as the FeedBrowser, and mistakenly stated that the module does not show up in the list of modules in the Modules Definitions area. I was wrong. The module is listed as 'Feed Explorer v01.00.00, and in the dropdown box of modules to add, it is listed similarly. In my rush to get the word out, I used the name associated with the codebase that supports it. So, hopefully I've not confused too many folks, because it really is worth checking out.

You'll find the controls code in the Admin/Syndication folder, which is where the default news.opml file is located. The rendering scripts are located in the Website/Resources/FeedBrowser folder.

The DNN site is a good example of how the module can be used.  Click on the Careers link, and you'll see how it's being used there as well. ;)  Looking forward to getting more folks involved in using and documenting it.

We've been using Feed Explorer for months now.  Think it is a great tool & I was surprised I couldn't find any posts about it... until stumbling on this one.

Glad I found this as we just accepted the limit before as I just couldn't get the OPML file to work with it. Going to try again now as we left a few feeds we wanted off.

Do have other issues with this limitation though that has been embedded in DNN... really not sure why it is so limited as it affects a referral module we use so only a very basic email can be sent out... another issue though.

Oh... Just tried it with the working example that was posted before... no luck at all :-(

Anyone see what can be wrong with this?
